Could Your Massage Therapy Client Numbers Be A Little Higher?

Normally you may feel that your massage therapy business is doing well and has a good number of clients. Even so there are frequent times in our massage therapy business life when client numbers could be better and we get that familiar sense that our wonderfully fulfilling massage therapy business could work a lot better.

You've heard me talking about how your thinking can change your massage therapy business. But how is this done? How can you turn around a massage therapy business from ok to doing well?

For most massage therapists it simply isn't that easy. The fact of the matter is that we all have times when clients don't come as we'd like them to and there is room for improvement. When examine our massage therapy businesses, we can really see that our client numbers are not as high and even getting our most regular clients to refer friends can feel like a battle. In this case, what is needed is some techniques to combat this and cut of falling client numbers. And all massage therapy businesses need this; not just the starting up ones.

In this case what we need to do to bring client numbers up for our massage therapy business is to examine where the clients you do have, have come from. Go over your client records again and do a quick search on what sources you have got them from.

Look at your records and you will find that perhaps out of 100 people that 10 have come from the dance club up the road, 15 have come from the office block in the city, and that the rest have come from signs and advertising. What you are trying to do is establish a pattern and find where the flow is coming from.

What will happen then is that you realise that not all client numbers have to drop in your massage business just becuse of unforeseen circumstances, sometimes the reason client numbers drop is because you have not followed up on marketing for a while, not contacted people inthe community who have referred you business or created new, positive contacts who could be possible candidates for giving you business.

In any massage therapy business, writing down a basic graph or report for yourself will help you keep on top of any potential falling client numbers and hopefully put a stop to it before it happens.

How Massage Therapy Works As A Business

Massage Therapy is, as you know, a very rewarding profession to get into. So often we fall in love with Massage Therapy and then cross our fingers and wait for it to work.

Massage Therapy is an ideal way of expressing how you care about people, their muscular soreness and stiffness and hopefully help them recover emotionally as well. Its great, we can't fault it. And there are lots of Massage Therapy schools where we can go and learn expert techniques and keep this powerful knowledge for the rest of our lives.

But how does Massage Therapy Work as a business?

Well for starters, just doing massage therapy isn't enough to make it work as a business. Don' think that you can generate clients just because you are a massage therapist. That's mistake number 1.

The best thing to do to make massage therapy work as a successful and profitable business (I mean emotionally profitable as well as financially) is to see it as a "relationship" business.

Forget just seeing yourself as a "Massage therapist" you need to start thinking of yourself in the business is creating a long term business relationship with them. No longer should you see yourself as just giving them a "back massage". The way to make massage therapy work as a business is to start setting long term plans for being "their massage therapist" who they can trust and come to when they are in physical pain.

Its not enough now to warrant being any other way. This attitude is a must when you are massaging people. Why? Because clients want to feel special. They want to feel as if you really want to take their pain away and will do anything you can using massage to do it. In other words they want to feel important to you not just another client.

Massage therapy is the ideal way to make people feel loved and special because its such a personal touch-excuse the pun. So make sure you have the right set of feelings and attitudes towards your clients when you greet them and massage them. If a client feels special you are twice as likely to get more referrals, re-bookings and you will find your success as a massage therapist snow balls.

Combine this with expert marketing and you will never look back.

Being able to do massage therapy is a complete joy and a gift you can give to others. So use this skill wisely; massage with love, massage with conscious energy and make it work as a business. You'll find this giving attitude manifests in your life as more clients and more clients. Massage therapy is an ideal way to tap into a spiritual resource that other professions may not. So enjoy it and your practice will excel.

Best wishes,

Your Own Self-Worth- By Amy Hale
How comfortable are you with your self-worth? Self-worth is important to the ultimate happiness you feel in your life because it is deeply tied into your ability to attain your desires.

In order to move forward with your desires, you need perseverance. So why do we sometimes give up so easily? Many of us feel that there are not enough hours in the day to pursue our dreams or we live in an environment that seems so far away from what we truly want. Are these just excuses? Who or what do we hide behind in order to stay in our comfort zone? Being comfortable doesn’t mean we’re happy where we currently are. It could be that we are afraid to step out of our comfort zone because we haven’t learned to trust ourselves in creating and allowing our desires to come to fruition. This process may seem difficult at first, but it does get easier as you move into a better state of mind.

If your feelings and thoughts are positive, they are very powerful. If your feelings and thoughts are negative, they are also very powerful. We can think of this as an extension to the cause/effect theory, where your thoughts and feelings are the cause and the effect is what happens from them.

For example, have you ever been unhappy in your job and thought, what if I can’t get another job? Or maybe you’ve experienced a time when you were alone, without a partner. People ask things like, “Why can’t I find anyone decent?” or “When will I ever find someone with whom I can share my life?” Thoughts like these generate feelings that go directly into your unconscious mind where they create more in the reality of lacking.

However, have you noticed when you receive a job offer or find a new partner, often you will receive more job offers and meet more potential partners shortly thereafter? This is because you no longer have the unconscious sense of lack which perpetuates more feelings of lack. This becomes a prevailing cycle unless you begin to change the way you feel about yourself.

The unconscious mind is very impressionable and communicates by imagery and feelings. So doesn’t it make sense to use your creative mind to generate your desires into realization? You can use conscious and rational thoughts to generate images and feelings within you that attract your desires and help make you comfortable with the changes that need to take place on the way.

Here are some ways to become more engaged to your own self-worth.

Set time aside each day to daydream about what it is you really want. Be open to how you feel and how your thoughts progress. If anything makes you uncomfortable, focus on that for only a moment and then remove it and begin daydreaming again where you left off. The more comfortable you become with your new desire, the easier it will be to obtain.

Here is a technique that I use when I’m feeling blocked. Imagine that you are approaching a wall. It can be as big and tall as you like. On this wall is written what it is that is blocking a particular desire. Acknowledge what that block is and decide if you are willing to keep it or let it go. When you decide to let it go, find a way around this wall. Climb over it, go around it, find a way through it. On the other side of the wall is what life will be like once the obstacle is gone.

If you are hiding behind a situation or person, imagine what it would be like if they were to step aside and let you have what it is you want. Get comfortable with the idea of making the decision to move forward with your desire and notice what feelings it generates. Common feelings will be fear and nervousness. These are normal. Keep imagining a successful outcome and you will stay motivated to move ahead.

Guided imagery allows us to test an experience we desire. It can help us make changes we want more easily. When you become comfortable with your desire, your conscious and unconscious minds work in unison to put it out to the universe so that you receive it faster.

As you do these things, you will find how much of your self-worth is tied into your reality. Becoming engaged with your self-worth can help you manifest your desires, bringing prosperity into your reality quicker and easier than you ever thought possible. By committing to stepping out from behind other people or negative circumstances, you can employ new strategies to help you have the life that you desire.
